Once upon a time a workshop was given by Heather Adamson on the Online Guild.
It was in the year 2008.
I did like to participate. Always wanted to make a puppet like that.
I started optimistic, but couldn’t decide how to make it to my full content.
So I thought ‘let it simmer a while’ and that ‘while’ became alsmost 9 years!!!
When the Ufo (unfinished objects) workshop started last january, I thought it is now or never.
I took my time again, but I did it….
May I introduce…… Reppy Reptile.
Approximately 35 years ago I wove a cloth. The colours were modern 🙂 Dark brown and orange (and off white)!! When I finished weaving…I could not decide what to do with it.
After all those years I thought ‘enough is enough’.
I threw it in the washing machine and dryer and knew it would extremely felt.
A coat it was ment to be.
The lining was bought and the pattern chosen.
A zipper was used for the front.
The buttons are only for show.
Nice wearing because it feels warm and keeps the wind out, but ‘retro’ it is 🙂
On the Annual Spinning Day I attended a workshop felting. It was given by Adrian Salomé,
who hand dyed the tops herself. There were very nice colour combinations…..it was not easy to choose!!
We seperated the combed wool in thin layers and made a circle. Beginning in the middle and then going round and round. During felting we tried to keep the circle intact and I managed quite well, I think….well it is a little oval maybe….
My husband was needed to make holes. I hadn’t enough strength.
This little basket is a success while knitting on the couch. The ball stays in 🙂
On our Annual Spinning Day one could select a workshop.
My favorite was felting and I am so proud of the result.
The workshop was given by Alexandra and she is amazing.
Just take a look at her blog.
Yes, I really won this beautiful blend. It was given by ‘het wolbeest’ The photo shows blue and green, but it is turquoise and green, my favorite colours.
The blend of turquoise is Swifter/Merino/Camel / silk and angelina. The green is ‘Fries-melkschaap’ / Merino, mohair, Camel and soy-silk.
Now I have to decide: spinning or felting?
Not easy…but the blend is so beautiful, I think, in the end, I will choose for spinning.
The only thing I did was RT a tweet, can you imagine!?
It feels so soft…gorgeous. Thanks Alexandra.
