I can spin rather thin.
I often choose the Navaho/Navajo plying, because I like a 3 ply yarn.
Now I wondered if I could do this with two singles?
I gave it a try……
I crochet the two singles at the same time and the final result will be a 6 ply.
As you can see it is possible. When I took the yarn of my skein winder it twirled to the left a lot.
To much ply! I unplyed it a little in the spin direction and now it looked and felt better.
It did twirl a little to the right though, but not as much as it did at first to the left.
I am content. It still is a very thin yarn, but it was a nice experiment and a lot of spinning 🙂
This second week I did spin, but not that much, only one full bobbin.
I tried to make an evenly, thicker thread. To make it more easy the tops were divided in 8 thinner lengths. That went well. I will do some Navajo plying and some knitting and ……keep my fingers crossed.
In the meantime I went on blending Ryeland fleece / cria alpaca / kid mohair / angora. The total weight is +/- 40 grams.
